NEST Analysis – Nebraska Soccer Talk is high on the Bennington Badgers, that has been no secret. The short-term and long-term outlooks for this program are extremely encouraging. In the short-term, the Lady Badgers will be led by two very talented players. Mia Hurt is a goalscorer that simply creates mismatches for the opponents. She looks to be a star in Class B. Mia’s co-star will be Deja Daniels who is a very exciting player in her own right. If a few more pieces are placed in the puzzle, Bennington could repeat their spectacular 2019 season.

In the long-term, the community of Bennington appears to be growing at a high rate. For the athletic programs, that means a larger player pool and presumably more talent. In combination with the influx of numbers, Bennington Soccer Club has added much needed structure to the youth scene. Bennington will begin the season as the #6 ranked team in the Nebraska Soccer Talk Pre-Season Top 10.

The high school program will be key to this growth, as it is often the best resource for players within the community. Resources and expertise from around the state should be utilized to assist the Husky program. For the 2021 season, a point of optimism arrives in the form of Ellie Hutsell, a talented player that will be vital in the re-branding of the Aurora program. The current players set the standard for the future. In our opinion, there will be much to look forward to in Aurora. It all starts with the 2021 squad.

Nebraska Soccer Talk certainly hopes that this is the case as the sport of soccer continues to grow. Coach Chris Luther will be the man in charge heading into the 2021 season. With his leadership and the work of the players, York will attempt to post a winning record that would justify further optimism. Thomas Ivey will be a player to watch and could garner statewide attention by the end of the year.
