This list was developed while considering many different factors including program track records, recommendations from coaches, game observations, and roster strength. With that being said, much of this is subjective and opinions can vary. To the best of our ability, these rankings will reflect the reality of the soccer environment. Adjustments will be made as the season progresses and many conversations will take place. We look forward to those discussions.

Also, included in each article is a section titled Teams on the Verge. These teams ranked just outside our Top 10 but are considered to be in contention. The rankings are fluid and flexible; any team could quickly enter our Top 10 list.

NEST Analysis – Returning to their 2018 form will be the objective in the upcoming season for this program. Coach Joel Fritz will surely have his team motivated and prepared to make a run in 2021. Coach Fritz is a well-known commodity within soccer circles. He is a major asset for Waverly High School. During this season, the highlight of the Waverly squad will be Leah Rasmussen. Rasmussen has our attention, demonstrated by her presence on the Pre-Season Players To Watch List. Overall, Waverly looks to be highly competitive in Class B. Early season results will be very telling and this team could quickly rise through our rankings.

NEST Analysis – During the 2021 season, Omaha Skutt will not only be competing for a Class B title, they will also be contending for the title of top overall team in the state. Coach John Carlson is a highly respected coach within the state of Nebraska and will provide this program with an advantage on the sideline. On the field, this squad is bursting with talent. Cece Behrens and Jenna Hotovy are two of the top players in the state. Behrens and Hotovy will continue their soccer journey at the Division I level. Their efforts will be supported by a plethora of additional talent that is also on the roster. Watching this team will be a special treat for any soccer supporter. Coach Carlson has built a playing style that is exciting, disciplined, and effective. Omaha Skutt is our #1 ranked team heading into 2021. They hold the title of front runner for Class B girls soccer.

Previous Season Accomplishments – 2019 Class B State Semi-Finalists

NEST Analysis – Few Class B programs will begin the 2021 season with higher hopes than Omaha Mercy. Those aspirations are well justified as the 2021 squad goes title hunting. In 2019, this program was one game away from reaching the pinnacle of Nebraska soccer. Although that journey had to be incredibly fulfilling, there has to be a heightened sense of motivation to finish the job. Emma Caito will be one of the highlight players of this squad. She will look to establish herself as a top player in Class B. Mercy is the #2 ranked team in our Nebraska Soccer Talk’s Pre-Season Poll.
