Previous Season Accomplishments – 2019 Class B State Qualifier

NEST Analysis – Although lacking individual name recognition for now, Hastings is a program that looks to contend in 2021. Many programs aim for the current position of Hastings, as they have posted back to back eleven win seasons. Even more impressive is that this achievement is due to a complete team effort, not just a singular player. Opponents will soon find out that playing this team, especially in Hastings, is no easy task. This is a program that routinely punches above their expected weight. As the season progresses, players are sure to emerge, and we will be there to cover them. A standard of performance has been set in Central Nebraska. NEST Analysis – When it comes to Class B, there are several programs that are in the same circumstance as Conestoga. Nebraska Soccer Talk needs more time to observe and learn about this team. NEST Analysis – With Omaha Gross Catholic, the state will yet again receive the opportunity to witness wonderful play on the field. NEST Analysis – The community of Kearney, Nebraska is blessed with a dedicated and prosperous youth soccer club that prepares players for the high school level. In recent years, more and more talent has been coming from this area. It is starting to become a soccer hotbed in the middle of Nebraska. NEST Analysis – This is the first year of existence for the Elkhorn North boys soccer program. For those in the program, this is sure to be an incredibly exciting time but also a period of detailed work. A result of district growth, North will face many challenges that other programs simply do not have to consider. For one, this will be one of the youngest varsity squads in the entire state. Rightfully so, a grace period will be extended to the Wolves just as there is with any MLS expansion team. Coach Fred Doscher will have the responsibility of building this new program. An experienced and well respected soccer mind, Coach Doscher is a good fit for the task. He would also be an incredible interview for Nebraska Soccer Talk, as few have been in this position. On the field, there are a few Wolves that grab our attention. Jack Vokt, Logan Hanigan, Michael Grigsby, and Jon Doschet are all great building blocks for the future. Elkhorn North is sure to be an intriguing storyline during the 2021 season and beyond.

NEST Analysis – One of the most exciting teams in the state, Lexington will be favored in almost every matchup during the 2021 season. This is a program filled with attacking and ball handling talent that is sure to overwhelm many opponents. There is an intensity and flair built into the DNA of Lexington soccer players that generates admiration from all corners of the state. Additionally, Coach Jess McHargue has implemented a style of play that perfectly fits the talent available. Doing that as a coach is often talked about, but rarely actually accomplished. Junior Casillas and Alex Cruz are impressive players, both are seeking to establish themselves among the state’s best. The Minutemen’s chances are bolstered by the fact that they are equipped with a true home field advantage. This community truly loves soccer, that passion is on full display in the stands of every game. Morrison Stadium is the objective for this team during the 2021 season. That circumstance is changing, but that change will not happen automatically. Growing and covering all aspects of our sport will take effort from all of those who love it.

NEST Analysis – After a disappointing 2018 season, Columbus Scotus returned to their proper place among the top-tier in Class B during 2019. More of the same is expected in 2021 as the Shamrocks look to win the Clash of Columbus. With two very good teams occupying the same city and class, an exciting competition full of pride and rivalry is soon to be underway. A playing style centered around possession, confidence on the ball, and pace can be anticipated. By the end of the season, Nebraska Soccer Talk expects more than a few standout players to emerge from this squad. As a result of that belief, Columbus Scotus enters the 2021 season as the #6 ranked team in Class B.
